1. Local-First Architecture

UseDesktop is designed with a local-first approach. By default, the following data is processed and stored entirely on your device and is never transmitted to our servers:

• -Screen recordings and screenshots captured by the perception engine
• -AI model inference when using local models (VLM, STT)
• -Agent execution logs and automation history
• -Conversation data and agent memory
• -Credentials and API keys stored in your operating system's secure keyring
• -Downloaded AI models stored in your local application data directory
• -SQLite databases containing your agents, skills, tasks, and preferences

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, profile image URL, and authentication credentials (such as tokens from Google OAuth). An account is required to access cloud features and the marketplace.

2.2 Cloud Features (Optional)

When you opt into cloud features, the following data may be transmitted to our servers:

• -Cloud AI inference: Prompts and context sent to cloud-hosted language models
• -Cloud speech-to-text: Audio data sent for transcription
• -Cloud labeling: Screenshots sent for UI element identification
• -Replay sync: Screen recordings uploaded for cloud storage and review
• -Marketplace uploads: Skills, agents, or templates you publish, including associated metadata

2.3 Cookies & Session Data

We use cookies and local storage to manage user sessions, save preferences, and maintain secure login tokens.

2.4 Usage Analytics

We may collect non-personal usage data such as feature usage patterns, error reports, and performance metrics to improve the service. This data does not include screen content or personal files.

3. How We Use Your Information

• -To provide and improve the UseDesktop application and cloud services
• -To process AI inference requests when using cloud models
• -To facilitate the marketplace and skill-sharing features
• -To communicate with you for support, updates, and service-related notifications
• -To detect misuse, prevent abuse, and maintain service security

4. AI Training Data

We do not use your personal data, screen recordings, conversations, or agent execution data to train AI models by default. If we offer an optional program to contribute anonymized data for model improvement, it will require your explicit opt-in consent and can be revoked at any time through your account settings.

5. Screen Recording & Perception

The UseDesktop perception engine may capture screen content, window titles, running applications, and UI elements to enable automation features. This data is:

• -Processed locally on your device by default
• -Only transmitted to our servers if you explicitly use cloud features
• -Never shared with third parties without your consent
• -Your responsibility to ensure you have appropriate rights to capture third-party content

6. Data Storage & Security

• -Local data is stored in your operating system's application data directory, protected by your system's file permissions
• -Credentials are stored in your OS keyring (Windows Credential Manager, macOS Keychain, or Linux Secret Service)
• -Cloud data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and stored securely using industry-standard infrastructure
• -Authentication is managed via secure tokens with automatic expiration

7. Third-Party Services

We may integrate with the following third-party providers:

• -Google OAuth for authentication and login
• -AI Model Providers for cloud-based inference when local models are not used
• -Cloudflare for CDN, edge delivery, and secure storage
• -Telegram if you connect a Telegram bot

Each third-party service is subject to its own privacy policy. We recommend reviewing their policies when using these integrations.

8. Offline Mode

UseDesktop can operate fully offline. In offline mode, no data is transmitted to our servers or any third party. All AI inference, screen capture, and automation runs entirely on your device using locally downloaded models.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• -Access, correct, or delete your personal data
• -Export your data in a portable format
• -Restrict or object to certain processing activities
• -Withdraw consent for optional data collection
• -Delete your account and all associated cloud data

10. Data Retention

Local data remains on your device until you delete it. Cloud data is retained only as long as necessary to provide the service. When you delete your account, all associated cloud data is permanently removed within 30 days.

11. Children's Privacy

UseDesktop is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the application or via email. Continued use of UseDesktop after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
